LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A family is recovering after being rescued from a house fire on early Monday morning, according to a press release from Anchorage Middletown Fire and EMS.
They say around 5:20 a.m. fire crews got a call about a house in the 16000 block of Meander Way. They were told the two story home was on fire with people trapped inside.
Firefighters quickly deployed ladders to rescue a person from the second floor.
They say before fire crews arrives two children had already jumped from a window to escape the blaze.
Firefighters launched an “aggressive attack” on the blaze which they say began in the kitchen.
When they searched the home, crews found two dogs on the second floor.
Both animals were rescued and taken by ambulance to BluePearl Pet Hospital. They’re expected to make a full recovery.
