The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is hosting a series of safety-focused events in Anchorage this week, aimed at enhancing roadway safety and engaging with the community.
The week’s activities started Monday, September 16, with a Symposium on Safe Roadway Behaviors – a two-day event that took place at the Sheraton hotel in downtown Anchorage. This year’s symposium brought in local departments such as the Alaska Highway Safety Office (AHSO), transportation experts, engineers, healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to discuss innovative strategies for improving road safety in Alaska.
In addition, on Monday, they held a free car seat check-up event where parents and caregivers were encouraged to attend for assistance with car seat installation and safety.
