ELLICOTTVILLE, N.Y. — After a summer shutdown, an Ellicottville bar is transitioning to new owners.

Mill Street Sports Pub is under development at 5 E. Washington St., where Finnerty’s Tap Room closed this summer. The pub comes from Brenda Smith in partnership with Audrey Snow, who signed a lease in early November with building owner Ellicott Development.

The duo bring lots of experience. Smith, who started in the industry in 1982 at the original Gin Mill in Ellicottville, was a manager at Finnerty’s until February and previously worked at the Barn during a 40-year career as a nurse. Snow is also a Finnerty’s alumna who most recently managed 12 Gates until it closed a few doors down this summer after a two-year run.
