Indus Battle Royale, the India-developed mobile game, finally launched on October 16 after first being revealed in January 2022. With much hype surrounding it, the game quickly crossed a million downloads across Android and iOS, with 80,000 matches played on the first day.

However, what developer SuperGaming billed as the start of “India’s gaming revolution” has been met with largely negative feedback at launch. While the game was trending towards the top of the charts on both Google Play and Apple’s App Store, ratings of 3.4 and 3.3, respectively, reflect the community sentiment.
