At an awards luncheon during the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) Annual Convention on Wednesday, two Lynchburg area school board members were honored for 25 years of service on their respective bodies.
Amherst County School Board member Priscilla Liggon and Barry Jones of the Campbell County School Board were honored with the prestigious VSBA Quarter Century Award, according to a VSBA news release. They were further celebrated during the opening general session where attendees acknowledged their commitment to public education and community service.
Reflecting on his service, Jones said being part of a board that works together striving to see every student succeed is very rewarding.
