A&M moves to next step in process to find Corps Commandant [Video]

Texas A&M University closed the application process to find the 47th commandant of the Corps of Cadets on Nov. 12. Now the search committee, led by University Chief of Staff Susan Ballabina, will begin the process of going through the list of applicants to find who they will interview for the position.

Texas A&M President Mark A. Welsh III provided an update on the process during a wide-ranging press conference Thursday in the Memorial Student Center on the A&M campus.

“Hiring a new commandant is really critically important to us,” Welsh said. “The Corps in my mind is this noble, elite organization that should always be at the center of Texas A&M because of its tie to the heritage and the legacy of this university.”
