LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Muhammad Ali Center plans to reopen Wednesday after being closed for nearly a month.
Louisville Fire said crews were called to the parking garage around 2 a.m. Sept. 18 when a large number of exterior building tiles in storage were on fire. It took crews around 30 minutes to extinguish the flames and air out the building.
The Ali Center said no one was hurt and no artifacts were damaged. But the HVAC system was “greatly impacted,” and some smoke entered the building.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated by Louisville Metro Police and Louisville Fire.
