Albany teachers, parents rally for smaller class sizes after 2nd week of strike [Video]

ALBANY Ore. (KPTV) – Hundreds of teachers and parents in Albany rallied again Saturday, and said they are fighting for policies to limit large class sizes.

The Saturday rally was part of the teacher strike which will enter its third week on Monday.

Thursday was day eight of the teacher strike in Albany and members of the community are calling for the entire school board to resign.

The Albany School District preemptively canceled two more days next week as both sides have yet to reach an agreement.

Parents and teachers say they’re against placing 30 students in a classroom all with different educational needs for just one teacher to handle.

Teachers say they will continue striking until a contract agreement is reached.

Negotiations are expected to continue into the weekend.
