STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Each summer, the Joan and Alan Bernikow JCC plays host to its Golf & Tennis Classic, a fundraiser to benefit the Isador Aberlin-Ed Rovner Memorial Scholarship Fund for Camp and Kids in need.
However, since the passing of Mr. Bernikow, the event that’s staged at the Richmond County Country Club has been renamed the Alan Bernikow Memorial JCC Golf & Tennis Classic in loving memory of the outstanding community leader and astute businessman who was a staunch advocate of the JCC.
With 122 golfers, 27 tennis players and more than 230 people in attendance at the dinner that followed, this year’s fundraiser was the JCC’s most successful outing yet.
