MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Tom Holmes (D-Mobile) outlined a scenario that could put him in the Alabama Congressional District 1 seat.

Holmes is running as a Democrat in the heavily Republican District 1. The district extends from the southwestern tip of Mobile County to Houston and Harris counties in the southeast corner of the state.
Holmes, a Mobile native, hoped his roots in the Port City would win him extra votes in Mobile County, the most populated county in the district.
In June, Holmes suspended his campaign after his son died from a heart condition. His campaign didn’t resume until Oct. 1, leaving the wiregrass unvisited by the Democratic candidate since May.
