Alabama EMA leaders working around the clock as winter storm pushes into state [Video]

CLANTON, Ala. (WBRC) – Thursday evening, the Alabama Emergency Management Agency went into 24-hour operations mode in advance of the winter storm pushing into the state. They are bringing in state partners that will keep a close eye on the developing weather conditions.

The EMA operations room is filled with different agencies like law enforcement, transportation, forestry, National Guard and more. They are monitoring the weather and responding if need be.

Crews are also staged throughout the northern and central part of the state to watch over major roads.

We know there were a lot of lessons learned during the big “Snowmageddon” event in 2014. State EMA leaders tells us they talk about that often and say it’s important to learn from any big event like that.
