DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – Right now, there’s a push on Capitol Hill in Washington for more blood donors.
That push brought one U.S. Congressman for the state of Alabama to serve as a special visitor on Monday at LifeSouth Community Blood Center in Dothan.
Representative Barry Moore (R-AL2) stopped by to support LifeSouth and its mission throughout the southeast.
Rep. Moore spoke on the importance of making sure there is never a shortage of blood.
“There’s always a need,” said Rep. Moore. “It’s important from a federal level, from a state and local level, that we engage in the process to encourage people to be helpful to their communities, donate to their communities. It saves lives.”
LifeSouth also has mobile units that travel across the southeast for people to make donations.
