Two days before polling for the first phase of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) of Engineer Rashid and Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) formally announced to form a strategic alliance to work together in the larger interest of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
