One in three people are using or plan to use artificial intelligence for travel planning this year, according to Aer Lingus.
A fifth (21%) of respondents to a survey run by the airline said they have used AI tools such as ChatGPT to plan their holidays, and a further 11% are planning to do so in 2025.
Perhaps unsurprisingly the younger generation are early adopters of this technology, with 29% of 18-24s and 33% of 25-34s saying that they are already using AI as a travel planning resource.

Recommendations from friends and family (59%) are the most influential factor when it comes to travel inspiration. Review sites are next most popular source at 24%, closely followed by Instagram (22%).
