The chase began in Milton, N.H. and crossed into Acton. Police say the man and other members of the community formed a roadblock in an effort to help police.
ACTON, Maine — The York County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man from Acton Monday night for allegedly shooting at a car that was involved in a slow-speed chase with officers from New Hampshire.
Milton, New Hampshire police officers began chasing the car, which crossed over onto Foxes Ridge Road in Acton, Maine around 9:15 p.m., York County Sheriff William King said in a press release.
Some community members in Acton left their homes and tried to help police by forming a roadblock. One man, 55-year-old Robert Sprague of Acton, was armed with a shotgun, King said.
Sprague allegedly fired a shot at the vehicle that police were pursing, hitting the car’s trunk, King said.
