Aaron Rodgers now has one NFL record of Tom Brady’s that the seven-time Super Bowl champ is probably very okay with losing: the most-sacked quarterback in NFL history.
But Rodgers, 41, maintains a sense of humor about the new marker.
After the Sunday, Dec. 29 game between Rodgers’ New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills, in which the Jets lost 40-14, the quarterback made a knowing joke during the post-game press conference.
“Yeah, I got Tom on that,” he told reporters after the game, per Bleacher Report.
Rodgers has exceeded Brady’s record by three, and now has 568 sacks, while the retired NFL star concluded his career with 565.
The new record follows the Jets’ 12th loss this 2024-25 season, which ties Rodgers for the second most by a former Associated Press MVP quarterback in the award’s history, per ESPN. The Associated Press previously awarded him NFL MVP for the 2011, 2014, 2020 and 2021 NFL seasons.
