A tale of two kidneys: One man sets out to find his friend a transplant [Video]

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A man in Cincinnati is in need of a kidney transplant. To help find a donor, a man he met in dialysis is spending hours a week advertising for his new friend.

Dave Harbison told FOX 19 on Friday that his illness has been a major setback.

“I was never the type of person to just sit,” he said. “I was always on the move.”

He said that they’ve just started their campaign to find a donor to get him a kidney. Harbison has put up lawn signs around the city in hopes someone will help.

He also has help from his friend Kenneth Johnson.

“The dialysis clinic was like a funeral home before Dave showed up,” Johnson said. “I was already there, and they sat him next to me. We became friends in about ten minutes.”
