LANESBORO, Minn.-A new grocery store plans to open its doors at the old Iron Horse Outfitters and Inn on March 1, which would be the first in the community since Parkway Market and Coffee house closed over 2 years ago.
The new manager Cyntia Ruen, says she and her husband Peter moved into the space only a week ago, but they’re already working on setting it up for the big opening.
According to Ruen the effort has had a lot of support from the community, which inspired the new venture with their response to a survey from the Chamber of Commerce back in Spring.
Ruen hopes that the new store will be able to provide a healthier array of grocery options in town, so that residents only choices for grocery shopping won’t be to choose between a gas station or a 15-to-45-minute commute to Preston or Rochester.
