MACON, Ga. — A Monroe County clothing store has reopened its doors after an electrical fire ripped through the building back in August, but not in the same location.
Store owners say they lost everything in the fire including new inventory, but they’re thrilled about reopening so quickly after the fire.
Manager Taylor Rowland says despite losing things like hand-crafted boots and western-styled clothing they received significant community support.
“The fire was just absolutely devastating. It’s the biggest fire I’ve ever watched. I think in total, it took them nine hours to put out,” Rowland said.
In late August, the store burned down due to an electrical issue. It was the third fire along that portion of downtown shops. Store owners say they lost everything including new inventory.
“My owners had actually gone out to market a week …
