A.I. generated child pornography legal under current laws; legislators work to close loophole [Video]

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Artificial Intelligence technology is already changing lives and not always for the better.

Some are using A.I. to create pornographic images of people without their consent, and sometimes, the victims are children. This is already happening here in Florida, including in the Bay area.

You might be shocked to hear that in the State of Florida, and at the federal level, there is no law to protect victims.

8 On Your Side asked legislators and law enforcement what they’re doing to combat the outbreak of A.I. images that use the faces of real children and teens and put them on artificially generated, explicit images.

A third-grade science teacher at Beacon Christian Academy in New Port Richey was arrested for possessing child porn. The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said those are the charges that landed Steven Houser in jail.
