(WFSB) – Artificial intelligence is already impacting education.
Channel 3 looked at how.
Eyewitness News spoke with Joanne Mumley, the Wolcott Public Schools district’s language arts teacher, who developed a murder mystery game.
Mumley said she created the game with an artificial intelligence program. She meant it to be a teaching tool.
She said she initially had reservations about A.I.
“That was my honest reaction as an English teacher with reading and writing,” Mumley said.
Websites like Chatbot GPT can whip up an essay on any topic. The concerns are real, but A.I. will also have a positive impact on education and Mumley said she wanted to know both sides.
“Can’t teach the students about it or warn them about the cons and the strengths of it if you don’t know it yourself,” she said.
