HONOLULU (Island News) — A vessel’s anchor has caused significant damage to a coral reef off of Kewalo Basin in Honolulu. The Ocean Alliance Project is investigating the full extent of the destruction that has dealt a severe blow to the reef ecosystem.

Dylan Brown from the Ocean Alliance Project and his team are mapping the damage to horseshoe reef to determine the exact estimate of damaged coral for vital repair work to begin.
