Trump 2.0 immigration raids are designed to send a message [Video]

This week’s Working Lunch government and politics podcast from the public affairs firm Align Public Strategies looks at the frenetically busy first week of the Trump 2.0 administration.

In this discussion, Align’s Joe Kefauver and Franklin Coley walk through what can be expected in this latest Trump crackdown on immigration. Workplace raids have begun, but are expected to focus on certain targets and will likely be designed to send a broader message that supports Trump’s anti-immigration rhetoric.

The president also is making changes at the agency level, and Kefauver and Coley expect to see new blood coming to the National Labor Relations Board, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, or EEOC, has a new chair.  

And Trump has “opened the crypt” to bring back Andy Puzder, former CEO of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s parent CKE Restaurants, to serve as ambassador to the European Union. Trump had picked Puzder as Labor …
