Dedicated deal-seekers in the UK are spending an average of two hours and 18 minutes each week hunting for bargains, with supermarkets, holiday bookings, and clothes shopping being the prime areas where they seek out the best offers.

A survey has revealed that while Brits will happily spend over 90 minutes rummaging through charity shops for treasures, surprisingly, a quarter of adults don’t regularly compare prices to secure the best car insurance deals.

The research discovered 31% are motivated by cutting back on spending but 34% also viewed saving time as equally important.

The research, initiated by Compare the Market, coincides with the launch of their innovative service, AutoSergei, which promises to provide personalised car insurance quotes, potentially saving time and money as policy renewal dates approach.
