JetBlue is first airline to accept Venmo payments for flights [Video]

NEW YORK, NY (WFSB/Gray News) – JetBlue airline announced Tuesday it will now accept Venmo from customers.

Airline officials said that by accepting Venmo, it now offers customers an easy and secure payment option when they book flights directly with JetBlue online.

As of Tuesday, the option was only available on jetblue.com. The airline said it would be available on its app in the coming months.

“We’re continually looking for ways to make it easier to book a JetBlue flight on our website and mobile app,” said Carol Clements, chief digital and technology officer, JetBlue. “Adding Venmo offers a seamless payment option for customers who enjoy the ease and convenience of the Venmo platform.”

Paypal, which owns Venmo, said the option will also help groups manage shared travel costs.
