Listing numbers down in Townsville [Video]

Townsville homebuyers are faced with less choice as the number of homes listed for sale drops in the region.

The latest REA Group Listings Report showed the total number of Townsville homes for sale on realestate.com.au dropped 11.3 per cent in December and was sitting 20.9 per cent below the December 2023 figure.

New Townsville listings also took a dive last month, down 42.8 per cent in December but were up 3.7 per cent year-on-year.

REA Group Director of Economic Research, Cameron Kusher said wider regional Queensland experienced the second largest monthly drop in new listings in December, down 38.4 per cent.

“However, this was an improvement from December 2023, where new listings recorded a 40 per cent decline over the month,” he said.
