KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The nonprofit leading strategic planning for Kansas City’s role in hosting part of the FIFA World Cup 2026 is asking members of the Kansas City metro for initial ideas on what 2026 could look like.
KC2026 issued a memo Tuesday asking for residents in the Kansas City region to share details for any public events they are planning or considering during the World Cup, which will bring several matches to Kansas City two summers from now.
The nonprofit said any ideas for initial plans would help guide the organization as it continues planning for the World Cup. Specifically, “sharing early ideas will help develop a transportation plan that is informed by activities throughout the region,” KC2026 said in a press release.
“Plans do not need to be fully developed or finalized,” the organization continued. …
