SALINA, Okla. — Salina Mayor Randall Plumlee said it is a dream come true to attend the 2025 Presidential Inauguration.
Mayor Plumlee said two city councilors voted not to cover his expenses for this trip, so people in the community stepped up.
They did this out of the kindness of their hearts, wanting him to both represent the town and achieve his dream in D.C.
“I don’t know how to explain it. It’s breathtaking and it’s been quite an honor to represent the town of Salina here at this amazing historic event today,” said Mayor Plumlee. “I think the Office of the President is a big one, so I think we should always support that role. But yes, it being Donald Trump – I was super excited.”
Mayor Plumlee said he waited years to go to an inauguration and believes it’s a great networking experience that can benefit Salina.
