UTICA, N.Y. — In response to the dangerously cold temperatures, the area has warming centers options to assist individuals experiencing homelessness.
The Utica Rescue Mission manages the following warming centers:
- 103 West St.
- 203 Rutger St.
- Cornerstone Community Church, 500 Plant St.
The Oneida County Office Building will function as an overflow warming center from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Currently, there are no warming centers available in Rome, so transportation will be arranged for residents in that area to reach the warming centers in Utica.

Gov. Kathy Hochul has also declared a state of emergency for Oneida and Lewis counties due to the extreme low temperatures.
