Help tackle hunger during Souper Bowl of Caring initiative! [Video]

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Intercepting the sting of hunger in the capital city doesn’t have to be a difficult feat. The national relief effort ‘Souper Bowl of Caring’ encourages communities to raise food and funds for their neighbors in need when shopping for and prepping meals for the big game.

“Although it is a national initiative, all of the food that’s raised will stay local; and it will be used right here at Matt Talbot.”

Lori Wellman, the Director of Development at Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach said whether contributions are big or small, they can make a big impact.

She added that just $25 can help the organization provide 6 meals to people in the community.

“It might be as simple as telling your Super Bowl party guests to pick up an extra item or two when they’re in the grocery store.”
