Sioux Falls NAACP hold annual MLK Pancake Breakfast, talk about triumphs and hardships of the Reverends legacy [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The Sioux Falls NAACP celebrated its annual MLK Pancake Breakfast on Monday.

Despite temperatures dropping to nearly double digits below zero, the NAACP Sioux Falls branch endured and gathered today at the House of Deliverance Church.

“I don’t want the weather or any condition to stop me from honoring what brings people together, what brings businesses together, what brings and creates new friendships and collaborations,” Billie Bright III, Sioux Falls NAACP Chair of Education said.

Today’s celebration was not only a chance to celebrate the triumphs of Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy but also to familiarize with everything in between.

“I don’t want to just celebrate the nice, kind, warm fuzzy stuff, I really need to touch base and say am I paying attention, am I listening and really looking at what is people’s reality,” Danae Verba, Sioux Falls NAACP Secretary emphasized.
