Community members filled the streets of downtown Tyler celebrating his vision of equality and unity.
TYLER, Texas — Hundreds gathered in Tyler to celebrate the federal holiday that honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the iconic civil rights activist who fought for equality for all.
“Dr. King stood for unity, he wanted unity, he wanted liberation, and he wanted the rise and development of African American people with all people,” attendee Hassan Daniels said.
Each year, the third Monday in January is designated to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s legacy. Community members filled the streets of downtown Tyler, celebrating his vision of equality and unity.
