Providence strike enters Day 10 as Sen. Ron Wyden joins picket line [Video]

PORTLAND, Ore. — Providence healthcare workers entered their 10th day on strike Monday, joined by U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden, who questioned the hospital system’s bargaining tactics.

Wyden said he came out because “providers are on the front lines for the community, so I will be on the picket line with them until they get a fair shake.”

“It looks like they just keep recycling the terms that they’ve already given, so I have some real questions about whether they’re bargaining in good faith,” Wyden said.

While Providence reports working with mediators at all 11 bargaining tables, workers at Providence Portland said Sunday morning’s meeting yielded little progress.
