ALLIANCE, Ohio — The Alliance Police Department has released body camera footage showing a deadly officer-involved shooting that occurred Thursday at the Alliance Towers apartment complex. The incident left one man dead.

Police said they responded to reports of shots fired at the apartment complex. When officers arrived, they were met with gunfire and chaos. The newly released video provides a detailed look at the moments leading up to the shooting.

In the footage, four Alliance police officers were seen inside an elevator, their weapons drawn, as they prepared to investigate reports of gunfire. As the elevator doors opened, the officers exited and encountered a man with a gun.

“He’s got a gun,” one officer said.

The officers repeatedly commanded the man to drop his weapon.
