Washington, Clackamas County open 24-hour emergency warming shelters [Video]

BEAVERTON Ore. (KPTV) – As overnight temperatures drop many counties are activating their inclement weather shelters.

The shelters at the Beaverton Community Center and Blanton Street Building open Saturday at 5 p.m. and will stay open 24 hours a day until conditions improve.

Washington County says hot meals will be provided, no one will be turned away, and pets are okay, but people are told to check with shelters for their pet policies.

Washington County has 13 additional shelters that are expected to be open.

Clackamas County has one overnight shelter at Father’s Heart Street Ministry, which will be open from Friday at 6 p.m. to Saturday at 7 a.m., service pets are accepted.

Clackamas County also has 20 daytime shelters that are expected to be open.

Multnomah County’s emergency warming shelters are not expected to be open.
