OK Ethics Commission opens two investigations into State Superintendent Ryan Walters | News [Video]

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Ethics Community has opened two investigations into State Superintendent Ryan Walters.

In the first complaint, the commission is looking for documents related to campaign expenditures for Walters’ 2022 race where he was elected to his current office.

The second complaint accuses Walters of using his official state agency social media account to campaign for President-elect Donald Trump last fall instead of strictly posting state business.

An attorney for Walters addressed the first complaint, telling the commission that the subpoena for the documents related to the campaign finance reports was too vague and broad for them to comply.

However, no response has been given in relation to the complaint about Walters’ social media posts.

The Oklahoma Ethics Commission is also planning to look into concerns that Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Todd Hiett should not be hearing certain cases due to the accusations against him alleging Hiett groped …
