Pharmacy advocate groups are teaming up with lawmakers to get new legislation passed to stop monopolistic behaviors from Pharmacy Benefit Managers.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — High drug costs and struggling local pharmacies have become critical challenges for Arkansans.
That reality is the very reason that’s prompting lawmakers to take action against Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) in hopes of preventing further economic strain on communities.
A press conference held by the Arkansas Pharmacists Association at the Capitol on Thursday discussed ways to protect patients and pharmacies from PBMs.
The Arkansas Pharmacists Association announced they are working with lawmakers on House Bill 1150 (HB1150), which Republican State Rep. Jeremiah Moore is the lead sponsor of.
“These pharmacy benefit managers have gotten away with this for far too long and it’s about time that Arkansas leads the nation in putting these bad actors to rest and passing House Bill 1150,” Moore stated.
