On Jan. 2, the Mecosta County Board of Commissioners voted to rescind their support for the Gotion EV Battery Plant.
BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — Thursday night, the Mecosta County Board of Commissioners held their first meeting since deciding to no longer support the proposed Gotion Electric Vehicle Battery Plant.
They’re the second board to flip on their support for Gotion, behind Green Charter Township in 2023.
Trying to get a comment from Gotion Leadership on this change has not been possible because they’ve paused their contract with their public relations company.
In a statement to 13 ON YOUR SIDE, spokesperson John Whetstone said:
“Due to ongoing legal proceedings involving the Green Charter Township Board, Gotion has chosen to temporarily pause public statements to respect the legal process and ensure fairness.
