VIENNA, W.Va. (WTAP) – The Spencer’s Landing Steering Committee met Wednesday evening to discuss future developments on the property.
They met with the Thrasher Group and members of the community to fine tune the plans and layout of the structures. They plan on building a multifunctional amphitheater, a splash pad, and a playground.
The decision on these features came from a survey that was sent to the residents of Vienna. The amphitheater, splash pad, and playground were the most popular features mentioned in the survey.
Some in attendance voiced their concerns over placement and preexisting structures and features in Spencer’s Landing. One member of the committee wanted children’s safety to be a priority. There is a steep ledge from the property to the river, thus bringing the idea of a fence to run along the edge of Spencer’s Landing.
