JCPS says superintendent timeline is ‘aggressive’ and ‘ambitious’ [Video]

With just over five months until Superintendent Marty Pollio retires, the school board is looking to find the best leader for the district before the end of June.

The committee is made up of 35 Louisville community members representing different organizations across the city.

“I’m just here to represent students as an all,” said Central High School student Louis Sarpee. “I want a superintendent who actually cares about the voices, to listen to us and to actually want change to, for us to succeed. When I succeed, I mean for for us to build a future.”

At the committee’s first meeting, all the members shared a quality or characteristic they would like to see the next JCPS superintendent embody and gave feedback on the survey JCPS is sending out to the community.
