Milwaukee Archdiocese ushers in new era with new archbishop [Video]

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee will usher in a new era Tuesday, welcoming a new archbishop to oversee 184 parishes. The Rev. Jeffrey Grob will be installed as the 12th archbishop of Milwaukee. Grob replaces the Rev. Jerome Listecki, who announced his retirement in March 2024. All Catholic bishops are required to submit their resignation to the pope when they turn 75.A Dane County native, Grob has been an auxiliary bishop of Chicago since 2020. Now that he has been tapped for this new role, Grob will oversee 10 counties in southeast Wisconsin, which include 184 parishes and half a million Catholics.Jerry Topczewski is chief of staff for the archbishop and has overseen this transition four times now.
