AMIDST a rough retail environment, Macy’s is paving a new way forward as it aims to revive its business operations.
As the department store chain shuts down 66 stores, the CEO has revealed the closures are part of a bold new strategy going forward.
Macy’s confirmed on Thursday it would be closing 66 “non-go-forward” stores as part of its Bold New Chapter strategy launched last year.
Spanning 22 states, the “majority” of the Macy’s stores will shut down for good during the first quarter of 2025.
The wave of closures is part of the company’s plan to shutter around 150 underperforming locations over the next three years.
