Free gun locks in Louisville; Where to get one [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In an effort to prevent accidental firearm and encourage responsible gun ownership, Louisville is offering free gun locks to anyone who wants one.

The city’s Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods (OSHN) and Kentucky’s Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) have partnered to give away more than 5,000 premium firearm locks.

Anyone who wants one can visit the main lobby of the L&N building, located at 908 West Broadway in downtown Louisville, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. 

Officials said locks are available on a first-come basis every day this week.

“At least 1,000 locks will be given to the states front line child welfare and family support staffers to offer another arm of support to encourage child and family safety,” officials added.
