A Dauphin County program marks its 20th anniversary of providing learning opportunities for older adults.
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — It’s been said as we age, it’s crucial to keep our minds and bodies active. This is the philosophy behind Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning.
The Mechanicsburg-based community is helping hundreds of seniors embrace a new chapter of intellectual and social engagement.
“We in our society have worked really hard to add years to our lives, and I think that with aging comes a time when we are really trying hard to add life to our years,” said Anastasia Petrovskaya, Director of Pathways.
Pathways offers a diverse range of courses, from history and art to pickleball and cooking, catering to the holistic needs of its members. “We look at a person holistically,” explained Petrovskaya. “We want to meet both their spiritual, mental, and actually also intellectual and emotional needs as well.”
