The York County Hispanic Coalition event gave away around 1,000 toys to children across the area to celebrate the holiday.
YORK, Pa. — While the holiday season may be over, families across the country are still coming together to celebrate Three Kings Day.
On Saturday, the York County Hispanic Coalition hosted families at Willam Penn High School for the 19th annual Three Kings Day Event. The event featured a toy giveaway for children throughout the City of York.

DeHart said the event honors a Hispanic tradition called Epiphany, which celebrates the day the Three Kings first saw baby Jesus and brought him presents. Hispanic families who celebrate the holiday typically hide a shoebox full of grass or straw clippings under a child’s bed, where it is later replaced with a gift.
