Gov. Beshear to highlight success of Louisville nonprofit’s youth anti-violence program this week | Education [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Gov. Andy Beshear will recognize the accomplishments of a Louisville nonprofit’s program that supports children affected by gun violence this week.

Christopher 2X’s Game Changers has devoted resources to supporting children impacted by gun violence with the Future Healers program, which is a partnership between the Game Changers, UofL Hospital’s Trauma Institute and students at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. The goal of the program is to help Louisville children who have been impacted by violence in their neighborhoods to build a better future. 

Future Healers Kiddos Medical program is an educational initiative that introduces children to medicine and science as a way to provide opportunity and learning to build upon their future.

According to a news release, Beshear will visit the program at UofL Hospital in January to highlight the accomplishments of the medical program. The educational initiative has grown from 25 children to now more than 400 children.
