Corn and Soy Close in the Green [Video]

March corn ended the day up 2¢ at $4.56 per bushel.

March soybeans closed up 4½¢ at $9.99 per bushel.

March wheat contracts closed mostly lower. CBOT wheat was down 2¼¢ at $5.34 per bushel. KC wheat closed unchanged at $5.50¼ per bushel. Minneapolis wheat was down 1½¢ at $5.83½ per bushel.

“Today was fairly quiet as it would appear that traders aren’t interested in much other than tomorrow’s reports from the USDA,” said the Commstock Report. “If we don’t see a yield trim and a bit of a demand increase for corn, it would provoke a negative market reaction as traders are expecting both. This has the bar set pretty high as we did see a very bullish surprise in the December [World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE)] report, and it isn’t the M/O of the USDA to provide gifts in consecutive reports.”
