US Ambassador Sends New Year Greetings in Vietnamese, Praises Bilateral Ties [Video]

In a video over three minutes long, released by the US Embassy, Ambassador Marc Knapper used Vietnamese to review the achievements in US-Vietnam relations and the promising future of their cooperation.

“As 2024 draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on a year filled with significance for US-Vietnam relations. We have reached important milestones, strengthened our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and laid the foundation for a prosperous and secure shared future.

This year, we witnessed transformative progress,” the Ambassador began, accompanied by images showcasing cooperation between the two countries across various fields.

Over the past decade, bilateral trade between the US and Vietnam has quadrupled, rising from $30 billion to over $120 billion.

The Ambassador highlighted that in September, the US Agriculture Delegation made its largest-ever visit to Vietnam. Following this, the US transferred five T-6C training aircraft to Vietnam and announced $12.5 million to enhance Vietnam’s maritime safety.
