Scott Kennelly, the Director of Butte County Behavioral Health, says that of the 207 people who came to the sobering center in December of 2024, about 77% of those patients asked to be referred to different resources aimed to help them with their sobriety.
CHICO, Calif. – The Butte County Sobering Center, which opened its doors five months ago in August 2024, has become an important resource for the community, offering support for individuals struggling with substance use.
Since its opening, the center has served over 550 people, with the number of visitors increasing steadily each month.
In its first month, the Sobering Center assisted 50 individuals. By December 2024, that number had quadrupled to 207.
