SACP stands firm in decision to contest 2026 elections [Video]

JOHANNESBURG – The SACP has confirmed that it will be not be backing down from the 2026 local government elections.

According to spokesperson Alex Mashilo, it will contest the elections as a stand-alone party.

Mashilo says that the move is aimed at strengthening the alliance and exercising independence.

The SACP says this will help advance the radical social transformation agenda.
